Thigh Holster
Whether you call it a Thigh Holster, Leg Holster, or Drop Leg Holster they all free up belt space and provide extra clearance around body armor to access your pistol. It is also easier to draw from your support hand. The Ares Tactical Thigh Holster is highly versatile. It is adjustable for ride height, including being able to remove the top strap. Both let straps feature rubberized strips that help prevent twisting or unwanted movement. Dual tension screw allow you to adjust the force needed to draw. All holsters come mounted directly to the thigh platform. We do offer a variety quick-release interchangeable hardware that allow your to swap holster quickly or the move your holster from one platform to another easily. Some of the more popular are the Blade-Tech TMMS, Safariland QLS, and G-Code RTI. Essentially they all serve the same function but are not interoperable between brands. One side mounts to the holster (Insert/fork/hanger) and the other mounts to platform (thigh panel/ belt slide, molle adapter) and this is usually called the plate. Is one any better than another? That’s a personal preference as they all have their own following. TMMS puts it off the body the least, RTI is the easiest to swap out. QLS is the most ubiquitous. Additional holsters can be ordered by choosing our Molle Holster and Molle Weaponlight Holster. We try to provide the highest level of flexibility and cost savings. Just let us know at the time of order so we can pre-drill the correct hole spacing at no extra charge. As with all our Kydex Holsters, the Thigh Holster is Made in the USA by veterans using parts and materials made in the US. Update 12 January 2021: We have brought in some Blade-Tech thigh panels to offer more colors and hopefully have a more consistent supply on hand. These feature a semi-rigid polymer platform with dual leg adjustments and an adjustable drop hanger with a quick release side buckle. Update 1 February 2018: Our supplier has discontinued the Cordura thigh panels in a style we use. Very limited stock or old stock is available. The Ulticlip is popular available option for a minimal visual profile. It also allows you to carry the holster without wearing a belt or clipping inside your purse, pack, or double AR/AR mag pouch. The user can easily remove the side they don’t need at the time with a Philips head screwdriver. It take only seconds to swap back. The body of the holster is constructed of .080 Kydex or for some finishes Holstex. Both offer excellent resistance to chemicals and environmental conditions. Hot, cold, wet or dry will not harm your holster. Other thicknesses are available as a custom order. Although we feel .080 offers the best balance of properties. The .060 thickness will do the job but feels flimsy to most people and is not nearly as strong for an OWB holster. Tanker Chest Holster
The Tanker Holster was born out of a need for a easy access system where traditional belt or thigh holsters were not practical. Classically seen worn by tankers and pilots, today you can still see these used by military personnel as well as backpackers, hikers, and atv off roaders. The Ares Tactical Tanker Chest Holster is based on the 1940’s US Military M7 Tanker Holster. We have designed in a lot of improvements including using weatherproof Kydex, allowing greater adjustability in sizing and retention. Additionally, we have designed the holster to be adjustable in the carry angle. It can be rotated to near horizontal. This allows for a more natural draw angle to fit your body. The Ares Tactical Tanker Chest Holster can also be configured in the M3 Tanker style that uses a single sling style loop Unlike the original military M3 and M7 Tanker Holsters, ours can be ordered in dozens of different firearms and colors. Bodyguard IWB Holster
The Bodyguard IWB Holster grew out of a need for a comfortable IWB (Inside the Waistband) holster that was highly concealable, reliable, and easy put on or take off. This Kydex holster is ambidextrous and can be configured for right and left hand carry. Wrap around muzzle design protects the muzzle, keeps your clothes cleaner, and is far more comfortable than exposed versions. The tuckable J-hook allows for full concealment with minimal hook showing. An optional pull-the-dot soft loop kit is available for $10. Also consider the new UltiClip. This is a great solution for those men and women who do not wear belts or want an even more concealed carry Kydex holster The body of the holster is constructed of .080 Kydex. This offers excellent resistance to environmental conditions as well as body sweat. Also normal atmospheric hot, cold, wet or dry will not harm your holster. Other thicknesses and colors are available as a custom order. Although we feel .080 offers the best properties. The .060 thickness will do the job but feels flimsy to most people and sometimes is a little more difficult to holster. The extra stiffness over the .060 is something IDPA competitors will appreciate. The J-hook made of very strong .125 Kydex. This style is also called an appendix carry holster. The minimal width of the wrap around construction lends itself to placing almost anywhere on the belt. The appendix carry refers to placing the holster forward of the hip bone or the 2 o’clock position for a right-handed shooter. It is equally well suited 3, 4, or 5 o’clock carry depending on your preference. This is a IWB Kydex Holster you can wear all day and love the comfort and security it offers. As with any screw hardware; it is recommended that after final set up is made that you use threadlocker on the screws to prevent accidental loosening.
