The Standard holster available in a variety of colors and camouflage patterns. Shown here is FDE (flat dark earth) and is just one of the 30+ colors available. It comes standard in black with 1.75″ injection molded belt loops. Optional, tuckable, J hook, and/or pull the dot belt loops allow inside the waistband (IWB) carry for added versatility and concealability. It’s like getting two holsters in one.
This is the best all around holster available. The pancake holster style fits close to the body that allows excellent concealment yet offers quick access when you need it.
New in December 2021 is the option to choose your own sweat shield size. The sweat shield is the body side part of the holster that covers the slide. A full would extend to the rear of the slide. A low would be close to the rear of the grip. Low with RMR/MRD reduces the sweat shield from the top of the slide for slide mounted red dots.
The body of the holster is constructed of .080 Kydex or for some finishes Holstex. Both offer excellent resistance to environmental conditions. Hot, cold, wet or dry will not harm your holster. Other thicknesses are available as a custom order. Although we feel .080 offers the best properties. The .060 thickness will do the job but feels flimsy to most people. The Standard Holster and belt loop position allows for six carry heights and different angles for most full size pistols. Adjustment will vary depending on pistol length. The highest position of the belt loops allows the pistol to sit lowest on your belt. This will roughly place the trigger guard at the belt level. The belt loops can be dropped down to the next set of eyelets making for a slightly higher ride. Flipping the belt loops upside down with further raise the ride of the holster. Inverting the belt loops for a very high ride, as with any holster, should only be done with a stiff belt. Trigger Guard
Small and light protection for you double stack Glock in 9/40/357sig. This fits the G17,G18, G19, G22, G23, G26, G27, G31, G34, and G35. SideKick Holster
Ares Tactical has made combination pistol and magazine IWB holsters for years by special order. There’s a pretty consistent pattern that several Kydex holster makers use. Our wasn’t that different in the basic design. We applied our critical eye on using the best materials and finishing, but essentially they looked and worked the same. The new SideKick holster is a first in its design. It takes up less belt room than the traditional style making it far more versatile in where you place it. Most pistol and mag holsters are limited to carrying in the front or AIWB (appendix Inside-the-belt). The Ares Tactical SideKick is small enough that some users will be able to place it anywhere including the strong side 3 o’clock position. The mag slot is built to handle full size magazines regardless of pistol size. Compact and subcompact magazines will fit deeper in the slot. User adjustable tension screws for both the pistol and magazine. This allows you to custom tune the draw effort needed for the pistol and magazine individually. Want even more versatility? Will the SideKick IWB holster work without a magazine? Yes, the SideKick is designed in a way that allows it to be used with or without a magazine placed in the slot. 2. Will this work with my Trijicon RMR (Burris Fast Fire, JP JPoint, etc.)? Generally, no. To keep the profile small we tuck the magazine slot close to the pistol. Some combinations of mini dot optics, mount, and compact magazines may work. 3. I see you make other holsters for my XDs 3.3 but not in the SideKick model. Why? The SideKick is made for many double stack pistols. Some double stack pistols and most single stack pistols do not work well with the intent of this design. 4. Is there an option for two or three magazines? No. Adding a second magazine substantially increases the relative size and severely restricts the versatility of the design. Thigh Holster
Whether you call it a Thigh Holster, Leg Holster, or Drop Leg Holster they all free up belt space and provide extra clearance around body armor to access your pistol. It is also easier to draw from your support hand. The Ares Tactical Thigh Holster is highly versatile. It is adjustable for ride height, including being able to remove the top strap. Both let straps feature rubberized strips that help prevent twisting or unwanted movement. Dual tension screw allow you to adjust the force needed to draw. All holsters come mounted directly to the thigh platform. We do offer a variety quick-release interchangeable hardware that allow your to swap holster quickly or the move your holster from one platform to another easily. Some of the more popular are the Blade-Tech TMMS, Safariland QLS, and G-Code RTI. Essentially they all serve the same function but are not interoperable between brands. One side mounts to the holster (Insert/fork/hanger) and the other mounts to platform (thigh panel/ belt slide, molle adapter) and this is usually called the plate. Is one any better than another? That’s a personal preference as they all have their own following. TMMS puts it off the body the least, RTI is the easiest to swap out. QLS is the most ubiquitous. These feature a semi-rigid polymer platform with dual leg adjustments and an adjustable drop hanger with a quick release side buckle. Competition Holster
Competition Holster for IDPA, USPSA, & 3Gun The Competition Holster is perfect for IDPA, USPSA, and 3Gun action shooting matches, general range use, or everyday carry. The low cut front allows the pistol to clear the holster faster and get on target sooner. If you measure time by the hundredths of a second this is the holster you want on your side. Dual retention screws, most models, lets you fine tune the draw effort and feel. You can make this as secure as you want. Adjustment are made with a common Phillips screwdriver meeting the most stringent IDPA requirements. A fully enclosed trigger guard meets all competitive sports rules and recommendations of most professional trainers. The low cut front is a popular feature. It allows you to clear the holster faster and get your muzzle pointed downrange sooner. This is also makes it compatible with Trijicon RMR, Burris Fast Fire, and JP Rifles JPoint style slide mounted micro red dot sights that do no extend past the slide width. If yours is different, let us know and we can typically accommodate your needs. Our design meets the rules criteria for both IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) and USPSA (including Production Division) as well as many other shooting competitions. If you are not an IDPA or IPSC shooter you should look into them. Both are very welcoming to new shooters and great way to improve your skills. Multiple carry heights are possible with the standard Tek-Loc belt adapter. It fits belts up to 2.25 inches. A standard 1.75” belt allows six carry height adjustments that can be locked in. You can add a FBI 15 degree forward cant or a muzzle forward cant in its base position. Other custom belt attachment models are available such as the Safariland QLS & ELS. We can even custom mold a holster to your preferred belt attachment. Vistit the Belt Accessory Page or just contact us. A flared opening is added for safety and ease. This allows the shooter to holster the pistol easily without the need to point the muzzle at themselves to get it started into the holster. Muzzling yourself in IDPA, USPSA, or in general is forbidden. Order the single color or two-tone model. The single color uses only the Base Color Option. When ordering the dual color model select the inside Base Color then the outside shell wrap color. You will also need to choose an edge reveal for two tone competition holsters. Single layer holsters should choose flush. Two-tone dual layer competition holster can choose any option. The bevel is tapers the outer layer in most visible areas and adds a nice polished transition to the inner layer. This is our most popular option just beating out the Thin Blue Line (TBL) reveal. The Thin Blue Line reveal was originally made just for our Law Enforcement customers but we had such a demand we added it as a option for everyone, in every color nad kept the name. This is roughly an 1/8 inch set back on the outer layer letting more of the inner layer be visible. Bevel and TBL are not possible on single layer holsters, though the system will let you pay for it. We have added the option to choose your sweat shield coverage. Sometimes call a shirt guard, the sweat shield is the part of the holster between the rear of the slide and your body. Low cut is the shortest and typically ends just above the belt attachment point. The full is the tallest, covering most of the slide. Different slide profiles and grips will vary just how much is covered on the full option. If you are a high thumbs forward gripper any sweat shield will work. Low thumbs forward grippers tend to like the low shield coverage. As a long time IDPA shooter (A054xx) and life member of USPSA (L26xx) we have heard that beep many times. Hybrid Holster
Hybrid holsters have been very popular over the last decade. Providing the conforming nature of leather on the backside and the rugged form fitted Kydex on the outside blends the two spectrum’s of holster design. This is the Ares Tactical take featuring sturdy leather back and .080 Kydex. The Kydex Holster design allows you to have multiple shells and one leather backer. The opening is slightly flared to make holstering easier. The full wrap muzzle is standard. This protects the front sight from damage or become caught up on your clothes. As an added benefit it keeps your clothes clean from powder and oil from the slide and muzzle. Also, the wrapped muzzle reduces sharp edges and wear that can tear holes in your pants. Notice the rounded and treated edges of the leather. We take the extra time to do this because it makes carrying more comfortable and it looks good too. IWB Soft loops are a great option for those wanting something more secure that the traditional metal clips. The pull-the-dot snaps allow easy on and off. You can also choose tuckable injection molded belt clips. Cant angle can be fine tuned via front and back adjustment holes. Multiple shells are available for only $20. Bodyguard IWB V2
New! The Bodyguard V2 Holster grew out of a need for a comfortable IWB (Inside the Waistband) holster that was highly concealable, reliable, and easy put on or take off. Wrap around muzzle design protects the muzzle, keeps your clothes cleaner, and is far more comfortable than exposed versions. The Bodyguard V2 is not the next generation holster but just a different attachment style that many have asked to have made. The over the belt clip is sturdy and and adjustable for straight carry, FBI forward cant and reverse cant popular with some AIWB and crossdraw carriers. The Bodyguard V2 Holster also features dual adjustable tension screws. This will let you fine tune the amount of force needed to draw the holster to fit your needs. The “chopped” version is a straight cut across the muzzle that allows you to place a longer barrel version or threaded barrel. The body of the holster is constructed of .080 Kydex. This offers excellent resistance to environmental conditions as well as body sweat. Also normal atmospheric hot, cold, wet or dry will not harm your holster. Other thicknesses and colors are available as a custom order. Although we feel .080 offers the best properties. The .060 thickness will do the job but feels flimsy to most people and sometimes is a little more difficult to reholster. The extra stiffness over the .060 is something IDPA competitors will appreciate. This style is also called an appendix carry holster. The minimal width of the wrap around construction lends itself to placing almost anywhere on the belt. The appendix carry refers to placing the holster forward of the hip bone or the 2 o’clock position for a right-handed shooter. It is equally well suited 3, 4, or 5 o’clock carry depending on your preference. As with any screw hardware; it is recommended that after final set up is made that you use threadlocker on the screws to prevent accidental loosening. We now offer this as a option.
