Hybrid holsters have been very popular over the last decade. Providing the conforming nature of leather on the backside and the rugged form fitted Kydex on the outside blends the two spectrum’s of holster design. This is the Ares Tactical take featuring sturdy leather back and .080 Kydex. The Kydex Holster design allows you to have multiple shells and one leather backer. The opening is slightly flared to make holstering easier.
The full wrap muzzle is standard. This protects the front sight from damage or become caught up on your clothes. As an added benefit it keeps your clothes clean from powder and oil from the slide and muzzle. Also, the wrapped muzzle reduces sharp edges and wear that can tear holes in your pants. Notice the rounded and treated edges of the leather. We take the extra time to do this because it makes carrying more comfortable and it looks good too.
IWB Soft loops are a great option for those wanting something more secure that the traditional metal clips. The pull-the-dot snaps allow easy on and off. You can also choose tuckable injection molded belt clips. Cant angle can be fine tuned via front and back adjustment holes.

Belt Drop Holster
The Belt Drop Holster is the happy place(ment) between having a belt holster and thigh holster. The mid drop design fits belts up to 2.25″ with an adjustable belt sizer. Holsters come shipped in the neutral vertical position but can be easily adjusted for forward or back cant angle with a standard Philips screwdriver. Retention can adjusted via the 2-3 tension screws. Additional levels of security can be had with the Thumb Break option. This rubberized laminated webbing secures across the rear of the slide and is easy to manipulate under stress. This strap is also removable. The single thigh strap helps stabilize the dropped holster. The leg strap features rubber anti-slip strips to minimize shifting while active. There is also an elastic webbing for additional comfort. This strap is also removable. All holsters come mounted directly to the belt drop platform. We do offer a variety quick-release interchangeable hardware that allow your to swap holster quickly or the move your holster from one platform to another easily. Some of the more popular are the Blade-Tech TMMS, Safariland QLS, and G-Code RTI. Essentially they all serve the same function but are not interoperable between brands. One side mounts to the holster (Insert/fork/hanger) and the other mounts to platform (thigh panel/ belt slide, molle adapter) and this is usually called the plate. Is one any better than another? That’s a personal preference as they all have their own following. TMMS puts it off the body the least, RTI is the easiest to swap out. QLS is the most ubiquitous. There is some adjustment in the holster placement in the Belt Drop dependent if you have a light selected. The body of the holster is constructed of .080 Kydex or for some finishes Holstex. Both offer excellent resistance to chemicals and environmental conditions. Hot, cold, wet or dry will not harm your holster. Other thicknesses are available as a custom order. Although we feel .080 offers the best balance of properties. The .060 thickness will do the job but feels flimsy to most people and is not nearly as strong for an OWB holster. Molle Holster
The MOLLE Holster provides full slide protection while minimizing the real estate used on your belt or vest. The additional slide coverage helps protect your rear sight and firearm. Custom lower profile slide coverage is also available. Supplied with dual MALICE Clips, the MOLLE Holster mounts easily and securely. There are multiple vertical height adjustments as well as horizontal mounting. Mounting solutions using G-Code RTI system, Safariland QLS and ELS, or Blade-Tech Tek-Lok can be done on a custom basis too. If you want added versatility you can get the optional rigid belt loop is available for $10. They are available in 1.5, 1.75, and 2″ and come with all the necessary hardware. The nearly indestructible Kydex body withstands the rigors of being in the field. Hot, cold, dry or wet is will will not matter. Wrap around muzzle design protects the muzzle, keeps your clothes cleaner, and is far more comfortable than exposed versions. An added benefit is it allows plenty of clearance for drainage. New for 2015 are the adjustable tension screws. This will allow you to easily fine tune the retention of your holster. New for 2017 are the options for slide coverage. Competition Holster
Competition Holster for IDPA and USPSA Go to our new Competition Holster page. If you order on this page and not the new one linked above you will only get a Right Hand, Low Sweat Shield, and less options. The Competition Holster is perfect for IDPA and USPSA action shooting matches, general range use, or everyday carry. The low cut front allows the pistol to clear the holster faster and get on target sooner. If you measure time by the hundreths of a second this is the holster you want on your side. Dual retention screws lets you fine tune the draw effort. You can make this as secure as you want. Adjustment are made with a common Phillips screwdriver meeting IDPA requirements. A fully enclosed trigger guard meets all competitive sports rules and recommendations of most professional trainers. The low cut front is a popular feature. It allows you to clear the holster faster and get your muzzle pointed downrange sooner. This is also compatible with Trijicon RMR, Burris Fast Fire, and JP Rifles JPoint style slide mounted micro red dot sights. Our design meets the rules criteria for both IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) and USPSA (including Production Division) as well as many other shooting competitions. If you are not an IDPA or IPSC member you should look into them. Both are very welcoming to new shooters and great way to improve your skills. Multiple carry heights are possible with the Tek-Loc belt adapter. It fits belts up to 2.25 inches. A standard 1.75” belt allows six carry height adjustments that can be locked in. You can add a FBI 15 degree forward cant or a muzzle forward cant in it’s base position. A flared opening is added for safety and ease. This allows the shooter to holster the pistol easily without the need to point the muzzle at themselves to get it started into the holster. Muzzling yourself in IDPA, USPSA, or in general is forbidden. Order the single color or two-tone model. The single color uses only the Base Color Option. If you order Black or Gunmetal Grey you will be a heavier .93 Kydex. When ordering the dual color model select the inside Base Color then the outside shell wrap color.
