Product Description
The Belt Drop Holster is the happy place(ment) between having a belt holster and thigh holster. The mid drop design fits belts up to 2.25″ with an adjustable belt sizer. Holsters come shipped in the neutral vertical position but can be easily adjusted for forward or back cant angle with a standard Philips screwdriver.
Retention can adjusted via the 2-3 tension screws. Additional levels of security can be had with the Thumb Break option. This rubberized laminated webbing secures across the rear of the slide and is easy to manipulate under stress. This strap is also removable.
The single thigh strap helps stabilize the dropped holster. The leg strap features rubber anti-slip strips to minimize shifting while active. There is also an elastic webbing for additional comfort. This strap is also removable.
All holsters come mounted directly to the belt drop platform. We do offer a variety quick-release interchangeable hardware that allow your to swap holster quickly or the move your holster from one platform to another easily. Some of the more popular are the Blade-Tech TMMS, Safariland QLS, and G-Code RTI. Essentially they all serve the same function but are not interoperable between brands. One side mounts to the holster (Insert/fork/hanger) and the other mounts to platform (thigh panel/ belt slide, molle adapter) and this is usually called the plate. Is one any better than another? That’s a personal preference as they all have their own following. TMMS puts it off the body the least, RTI is the easiest to swap out. QLS is the most ubiquitous.
There is some adjustment in the holster placement in the Belt Drop dependent if you have a light selected. This can be 3/4″ to 1.5″

This allows a small footprint on your belt freeing up space for other items you need to carry. SideKick Holster
Ares Tactical has made combination pistol and magazine IWB holsters for years by special order. There’s a pretty consistent pattern that several Kydex holster makers use. Our wasn’t that different in the basic design. We applied our critical eye on using the best materials and finishing, but essentially they looked and worked the same. The new SideKick holster is a first in its design. It takes up less belt room than the traditional style making it far more versatile in where you place it. Most pistol and mag holsters are limited to carrying in the front or AIWB (appendix Inside-the-belt). The Ares Tactical SideKick is small enough that some users will be able to place it anywhere including the strong side 3 o’clock position. The mag slot is built to handle full size magazines regardless of pistol size. Compact and subcompact magazines will fit deeper in the slot. User adjustable tension screws for both the pistol and magazine. This allows you to custom tune the draw effort needed for the pistol and magazine individually. Want even more versatility? Some combinations of mini dot optics, mount, and compact magazines may work. 3. I see you make other holsters for my XDs 3.3 but not in the SideKick model. Why? The SideKick is made for many double stack pistols. Some double stack pistols and most single stack pistols do not work well with the intent of this design. 4. Is there an option for two or three magazines? No. Adding a second magazine substantially increases the relative size and severely restricts the versatility of the design. Tanker Chest Holster
The Tanker Holster was born out of a need for a easy access system where traditional belt or thigh holsters were not practical. Classically seen worn by tankers and pilots, today you can still see these used by military personnel as well as backpackers, hikers, and atv off roaders. The Ares Tactical Tanker Chest Holster is based on the 1940’s US Military M7 Tanker Holster. We have designed in a lot of improvements including using weatherproof Kydex, allowing greater adjustability in sizing and retention. Additionally, we have designed the holster to be adjustable in the carry angle. It can be rotated to near horizontal. This allows for a more natural draw angle to fit your body. Molle Holster
The MOLLE Holster provides full slide protection while minimizing the real estate used on your belt or vest. The additional slide coverage helps protect your rear sight and firearm. Custom lower profile slide coverage is also available. Supplied with dual MALICE Clips, the MOLLE Holster mounts easily and securely. There are multiple vertical height adjustments as well as horizontal mounting. Mounting solutions using G-Code RTI system, Safariland QLS and ELS, or Blade-Tech Tek-Lok can be done on a custom basis too. If you want added versatility you can get the optional rigid belt loop is available for $10. They are available in 1.5, 1.75, and 2″ and come with all the necessary hardware. The nearly indestructible Kydex body withstands the rigors of being in the field. Hot, cold, dry or wet is will will not matter. Wrap around muzzle design protects the muzzle, keeps your clothes cleaner, and is far more comfortable than exposed versions. An added benefit is it allows plenty of clearance for drainage. Hybrid Holster
Hybrid holsters have been very popular over the last decade. Providing the conforming nature of leather on the backside and the rugged form fitted Kydex on the outside blends the two spectrum’s of holster design. This is the Ares Tactical take featuring sturdy leather back and .080 Kydex. The Kydex Holster design allows you to have multiple shells and one leather backer. The opening is slightly flared to make holstering easier. The full wrap muzzle is standard. This protects the front sight from damage or become caught up on your clothes. As an added benefit it keeps your clothes clean from powder and oil from the slide and muzzle. Also, the wrapped muzzle reduces sharp edges and wear that can tear holes in your pants. Notice the rounded and treated edges of the leather. We take the extra time to do this because it makes carrying more comfortable and it looks good too. IWB Soft loops are a great option for those wanting something more secure that the traditional metal clips. The pull-the-dot snaps allow easy on and off. You can also choose tuckable injection molded belt clips. Cant angle can be fine tuned via front and back adjustment holes. Multiple shells are available for only $20. Weaponlight Holster
Depending on the figures you look at, between 60-85% of shootings occur in low light. When time is of the essence, having weapon light already mounted to your handgun could be the edge you need. Modeled similarly to The Standard Holster, the Weapon light holster can be configured for belt carry or inside-the-waistband (IWB). Pictured is a Sig Sauer P226 9mm with a Streamlight TLR-1 weapon light in OD Green. The base model comes in black with 1.75″ belt loops. Other color and attachment methods are available. The body of the holster is constructed of .080 Kydex or, for some finishes, Holstex. Both offer excellent resistance to environmental conditions. Hot, cold, wet or dry will not harm your holster. Other thicknesses are available as a custom order. Although we feel .080 offers the best properties. The .060 thickness will do the job but feels flimsy to most people. Standard belt loops are made of very rigid .125 Kydex. Optional J-Hook or soft belt loops extends the versatility of this holster to be carried inside the waistband (IWB). Like the Standard Holster, the Weaponlight Holster has belt loop positions that allow four carry heights and different angles. The highest position of the belt loops allows the pistol to sit lowest on your belt. This will roughly place the trigger guard at the belt level. The belt loops can be dropped down to the next set of eyelets making for a slightly higher ride. Flipping the belt loops upside down with further raise the ride of the holster. Inverting the belt loops for a very high ride, as with any holster, should only be done with a stiff belt.
