This Defender Holster is a special purpose-built version of the Standard Holster offering the lowest profile holster with added retention. This OWB holster features can be ordered with a repurposed (a.k.a. used) Safariland SLS rotating hood meeting stringent requirements of many agencies, departments, and security teams. New options now include a low-profile Thumb Break or SpetzGear Speedlock spring loaded level 2 hood. Due to the extremely low profile some users may feel the hood mechanism against their body. You must select the SLS hood, SpeedLock or Thumb Break in the Options section. It is not part of the base price.
The alternative retention is the Thumb Break option that is popular on the Shoulder Holster. This synthetic laminated webbing is extremely durable and adds only minimal thickness on to the holster. You must select the SLS hood, SpeedLock, or Thumb Break in the Options section. It is not part of the base price.
It is available in a variety of colors and camouflage patterns. Standard are black 1.75″ injection molded closed belt loops. Several other attachment options include 1.5″& 2″ closed belt loops, 1.5″ & 1.75″ Infinity flat belt loops for outside the waistband carry. Tuckable, J hook, belt clips, and pull the dot belt loops offer easy inside the waistband (IWB) conversion carry for added versatility and concealability. It’s like getting two holsters in one.
The body of the holster is constructed of .093 and/or .080 Kydex depending on color or finish. Both offer excellent resistance to environmental conditions. Hot, cold, wet or dry will not harm your holster. Although we feel .080 offers the best properties. The .060 thickness will do the job but feels flimsy to most people. The Defender Holster and belt loop allow for four carry heights and different angles for most compact and full-size pistols. Adjustment will vary depending on pistol length. The highest position of the belt loops allows the pistol to sit lowest on your belt. This will roughly place the trigger guard at the belt level. The belt loops can be dropped down to the next set of eyelets making for a slightly higher ride. Flipping the belt loops upside down with further raise the ride of the holster. Inverting the belt loops for a very high ride, as with any holster, should only be done with a stiff belt. The Range Holster is a great solution for someone wanting a holster that is both versatile in application and easy to use. This taco holster style is formed from a single piece of thermoformed Kydex. This allows a small footprint on your belt freeing up space for other items you need to carry. Shoulder Holster Pistol
This is a pistol holster only for use with a shoulder harness system. This is a great add on for people who already have a shoulder holster rig but just need to add a different pistol. The Shoulder Holster Pistol comes with 1″ strap adapters common with most shoulder holster rigs found on the market including the Ares Tactical Shoulder Holste or the LIC (Low Intensity Conflct) Rig. As with all shoulder holster systems that use screws you must use thread locker e.g. Loctite or Vibratite once you have made your initial set up adjustments.$65.00
Thigh Holster
Whether you call it a Thigh Holster, Leg Holster, or Drop Leg Holster they all free up belt space and provide extra clearance around body armor to access your pistol. It is also easier to draw from your support hand. The Ares Tactical Thigh Holster is highly versatile. It is adjustable for ride height, including being able to remove the top strap. Both let straps feature rubberized strips that help prevent twisting or unwanted movement. Dual tension screw allow you to adjust the force needed to draw. All holsters come mounted directly to the thigh platform. We do offer a variety quick-release interchangeable hardware that allow your to swap holster quickly or the move your holster from one platform to another easily. Some of the more popular are the Blade-Tech TMMS, Safariland QLS, and G-Code RTI. Essentially they all serve the same function but are not interoperable between brands. One side mounts to the holster (Insert/fork/hanger) and the other mounts to platform (thigh panel/ belt slide, molle adapter) and this is usually called the plate. Is one any better than another? That’s a personal preference as they all have their own following. TMMS puts it off the body the least, RTI is the easiest to swap out. QLS is the most ubiquitous. Competition Holster
Competition Holster for IDPA, USPSA, & 3Gun The Competition Holster is perfect for IDPA, USPSA, and 3Gun action shooting matches, general range use, or everyday carry. The low cut front allows the pistol to clear the holster faster and get on target sooner. If you measure time by the hundredths of a second this is the holster you want on your side. Dual retention screws, most models, lets you fine tune the draw effort and feel. You can make this as secure as you want. Adjustment are made with a common Phillips screwdriver meeting the most stringent IDPA requirements. A fully enclosed trigger guard meets all competitive sports rules and recommendations of most professional trainers. The low cut front is a popular feature. It allows you to clear the holster faster and get your muzzle pointed downrange sooner. This is also makes it compatible with Trijicon RMR, Burris Fast Fire, and JP Rifles JPoint style slide mounted micro red dot sights that do no extend past the slide width. If yours is different, let us know and we can typically accommodate your needs. Our design meets the rules criteria for both IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) and USPSA (including Production Division) as well as many other shooting competitions. If you are not an IDPA or IPSC shooter you should look into them. Both are very welcoming to new shooters and great way to improve your skills. Multiple carry heights are possible with the standard Tek-Loc belt adapter. It fits belts up to 2.25 inches. A standard 1.75” belt allows six carry height adjustments that can be locked in. You can add a FBI 15 degree forward cant or a muzzle forward cant in its base position. Other custom belt attachment models are available such as the Safariland QLS & ELS. This allows the shooter to holster the pistol easily without the need to point the muzzle at themselves to get it started into the holster. Muzzling yourself in IDPA, USPSA, or in general is forbidden. Order the single color or two-tone model. The single color uses only the Base Color Option. When ordering the dual color model select the inside Base Color then the outside shell wrap color. You will also need to choose an edge reveal for two tone competition holsters. Single layer holsters should choose flush. Two-tone dual layer competition holster can choose any option. The bevel is tapers the outer layer in most visible areas and adds a nice polished transition to the inner layer. This is our most popular option just beating out the Thin Blue Line (TBL) reveal. The Thin Blue Line reveal was originally made just for our Law Enforcement customers but we had such a demand we added it as a option for everyone, in every color nad kept the name. This is roughly an 1/8 inch set back on the outer layer letting more of the inner layer be visible. Bevel and TBL are not possible on single layer holsters, though the system will let you pay for it. We have added the option to choose your sweat shield coverage. Sometimes call a shirt guard, the sweat shield is the part of the holster between the rear of the slide and your body. Low cut is the shortest and typically ends just above the belt attachment point. The full is the tallest, covering most of the slide. Different slide profiles and grips will vary just how much is covered on the full option. If you are a high thumbs forward gripper any sweat shield will work. Low thumbs forward grippers tend to like the low shield coverage. As a long time IDPA shooter (A054xx) and life member of USPSA (L26xx) we have heard that beep many times. Molle Weaponlight Holster
Depending on the figures you look at, between 60-85% of shootings occur in low light. When time is of the essence, having weapon light already mounted to your handgun could be the edge you need. The MOLLE Weaponlight Holster is similar to the standard MOLLE Holster. It provides full slide protection (when you select the Full Sweat Shield) while minimizing the real estate used on your belt or vest. The additional slide coverage helps protect your rear sight and firearm. Custom lower profile slide coverage is available such as the mid sweat shield, Low and low with optic cut. Supplied with dual MOLLE Clips, the MOLLE Holster mounts easily and securely. There are multiple vertical height adjustments as well as horizontal mounting (Thumb Break option recommended). Mounting solutions using G-Code RTI system or Blade-Tech Tek-Lok can be done on a custom basis. Of course, actual adjustment range may be affected by the pistol size. If you want added versatility you can get the optional rigid belt loop is available. They are available in 1.5, 1.75, and 2″ and come with all the necessary hardware. Hybrid Holster
Hybrid holsters have been very popular over the last decade. Providing the conforming nature of leather on the backside and the rugged form fitted Kydex on the outside blends the two spectrum’s of holster design. This is the Ares Tactical take featuring sturdy leather back and .080 Kydex. The Kydex Holster design allows you to have multiple shells and one leather backer. The opening is slightly flared to make holstering easier. The full wrap muzzle is standard. This protects the front sight from damage or become caught up on your clothes. As an added benefit it keeps your clothes clean from powder and oil from the slide and muzzle. Also, the wrapped muzzle reduces sharp edges and wear that can tear holes in your pants. Notice the rounded and treated edges of the leather. We take the extra time to do this because it makes carrying more comfortable and it looks good too. IWB Soft loops are a great option for those wanting something more secure that the traditional metal clips. The pull-the-dot snaps allow easy on and off. You can also choose tuckable injection molded belt clips. Cant angle can be fine tuned via front and back adjustment holes. Multiple shells are available for only $20.
